Our Story

this little light was inspired by witnessing a close friend navigate a serious health journey and the many challenges that come with it. Along the way, it became clear that beyond medical care, there are countless supportive resources that can make a meaningful difference—yet many of them remain out of reach for those who need them most. That realization sparked a simple but powerful idea: what if small, timely support could be more accessible? What if we could help lighten the load, even just a little, during life’s hardest moments?

That experience led to a deeper question: what support exists for the smaller, everyday needs that can make such a meaningful difference during difficult times? Things like comfort-focused treatments, therapy, or practical essentials—supports that ease the burden, restore dignity, and help people feel a little more like themselves.

The answer was limited.

And from that gap, this little light was born—created to offer thoughtful, accessible support in the moments it’s needed most.

Our mission is to provide flexible, compassionate support to Calgarians in financial need, helping them access the practical tools, resources, and care that can make a real difference in their lives.
